Beast is an Awoken Skill used by all CaC's.

• Description: "Unleash the beast within and gain a massive power boost! While transformed, your attacks and Ki recovery are boosted! Use (H, L, H, H, H, H, H) to perform a special combo!"
• Ku used: 500
• Obtained from: After achieving Max Friendship with mentors Gohan & Videl and Piccolo, talking Piccolo will give an option which reads "I want to train even more." After further dialogue you'll be presented with the option to "Spar". This will take you to a mission in which you battle Cell Max, with Orange Piccolo and Gohan (DBS Super Hero) as allies. Once Piccolo is downed, a cutscene will trigger of your CaC activating the Beast Awoken Skill. When the mission is cleared, the Awoken will be unlocked for all CaCs.

Properties

Like Super Saiyan, the form changes the user's hair (applies to HuM/SyM and HuF/SyF only), their eye color is changed to red, they also gain a new aura and stance.

This Awoken Skill alters your combo strings, adding the new combo string (H, L, H, H, H, H, H) - also listed in the description for it. The first three inputs (H, L, H) will remain as the default inputs for your race, but any races' default H, L, H, H gets overwritten into this exclusive combo string. This combo string may be accessed through any shortcut to the inputs that precede it, such as Dashing (L, L, H).

Additionally, Beast will grant your standing Light Attack as well as your charged Heavy Attack teleports, like the Super Saiyan family of Awoken Skills, however, unlike Super Saiyan, Super Attacks which can be charged up do not teleport.

Upon activation, Beast consumes 500 Ki, instead of simply requiring you to have that amount, much like Pure Progress and Ultra Instinct.

Despite attaining the form first and already pre-transformed into it, Gohan (Beast)’s appearance is only cosmetic and he does not reap the benefits or weaknesses of this form.

Usage Tips

The form has a uniquely long channel time, this renders it extremely vulnerable to Charged Heavy Attacks and Reverse Burst Dashes in PvP.

A good way to ensure the user can transform is to get a heavy guard break on the opponent, or use Super Souls that help them recover from Guard Breaks such as "You need to be more careful.", "I like you better when you are mad!" or "I'll surpass you as I am, with my OWN power!" as well as Super Souls that have a DEF Up! Limit Burst so that despite the odds of being guard broken when transforming, you can get the transformation off for relatively low amounts of damage incurred. Using "Shenron really went the extra mile." SS will reduce damage taken by 10%, halving Beast's defense debuff. On top of this, the SS also boosts an item's drop. For SS that boosts movement speed, a couple of good ones to keep in mind are: "As quiet as the sky...and as fast as lightning.", "I got my claws in you, and fangs too!", "I think I'm finally warmed up now!" and "Nothing beats flying!". The first three includes an additional boost to an attack category.

Similar to Super Souls that has guard break recovery, Female Majins has the faster guard break recovery. therefore, Beast is good for Female Majins on top of super souls that has guard break recovery like "I like you better when you are mad!".

The Beast combo has a ton of potential for follow-up attacks either in the middle of performing it, or after. For example, when the opponent is stunned into place before the last knockbacks occurs, a light stamina break can be quickly followed, however only if said opponent is unfortunate enough to be low on stamina. Or alternatively (and more ideally), a Super or Ultimate Attack can instead take it's place, such as Sledgehammer, Justice Combination, Time Skip/Molotov, Darkness Rush (Melee), Demon Ray or Demon Flurry.

Trivia

• Both Beast & Ultra Instinct do not grant any form of mobility increase.
• The animation while transforming and the smirk afterwards is a direct nod to when Gohan first attained the form in the movie
