"Warm your muscles and power up your Ki, as an exciting new in-game event called "Festival of Universes" is coming to the world of DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2." ― Bandai Namco Official Site

The Festival of Universes is a special online event held in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The events were released as part of the 1.21.00 free update in October, 2023. To gain access to the mode, all quests related to "The Saiyan Threat" and "Ruckus on Planet Namek" from the main story need to be completed.

Overview[]

The Festival of Universes is an event held periodically within a Universe Lobby for 9 consecutive weeks (3 months). There are three universe lobbies that consists of: Universe 6, Universe 7 & Universe 11.

Each lobby includes:

  • A Festival of Universes Reception Bot
  • Expert Mission Bot
  • Raid Quest Bot
  • Cross Versus Bot
  • Parallel Quest Bot
  • 1-vs-1 Unlimited Battle Bot
  • 1-vs-1 Limited Battle Bot
  • Tournament Shop
  • Timespace Delivery Shop

Alongside that, the lobby features a large Universe scoreboard screen, a stage, statues of respective Universe G.O.D's and special camaraderie characters.

The primary objective of the Festival is to earn Glory Points. Glory Points serve as the players contribution to their respective Universe's overall score, in-place team/individual leaderboard score as well as individual reward score. Glory Points can be earned by doing in-game activities such as Parallel Quests, Raid Quests, Expert Missions, PVP, Cross Versus & Special Events. Each week, a random in-game activity will be selected to give the player a chance to earn more Glory Points than usual.

Added with the 2nd Festival of Universes, the top 9 players that earn the highest Glory Points for their universe will be determined as an Elite Patroller. Elite Patrollers will have statues of the players spawn randomly in the universe lobby. The selection of players will be determined each week and can vary on the platform. Elite Patrollers also earn more glory points during Elite Patroller Matches, held occassionally.

Additonally, the player can also earn Star Coins, an exclusive currency used for purchacing Festival items from the "Tournanment Shop." The higher the player's ranking, the more they earn.

Participation[]

To participate in the Festival of Universes, the player must interact with the Universe Lobby Reception bot and the player will be granted three options, as shown in the image above.

Once entering their selected lobby, the player must go to the Festival of Universes reception bot, select the "View Universe" option, and there, the player can choose from Universe 6, 7 or 11 as their team.

Upon joining the universe of their choice, the player will receive a Festival Uniform clothing in the colors of their corresponding universe. It can be obtained from the Timespace Delivery Shop.

Other modes/events that give Glory Points[]

While Parallel Quests, Cross Versus, Raid Quests, Expert Missions as well as PvP are the focus events that give out Glory Points, especially due to the boost certain weeks give to certain events, there are other modes which give out Glory Points, albeit it is a very small amount. Those include:

Modes/Events

Hero Colosseum
Conton City Tournament
Frieza's Siege
Crystal Raid

Camaraderie[]

CamaraderieMenu

To access the menu, talk to the "Festival of Universes" bot, then go to "View Camaraderie."

Camaraderie is a new feature of the Festival of Universes that takes certain characters from the game and grant them either reinventions of already existing moves, or an entirely new and exclusive one, which goes towards a new preset for the character. There is 5 stars total for each character.

Talking to any of the avaliable characters in the Universe Lobby will unlock their Camaraderie bar, which works similar to the Mentor-Friendship bar.

Ways to increase the bar include:

  • Interacting with them which will open up different chat dialogs.
  • Taking them out on Parallel Quests (you can choose to be said character also), which is the fastest method of increasing Camaraderie (recommendations include Parallel Quests 3, 23 and 83), Online Raid Quests, Expert Missions, PvP etc.

At max three stars, it will require you to talk to said character, who will reward you 1 Demon Realm Crystal and 1 Super Mix Capsule for your efforts in the Festival, as well as for your camaraderie progression. Once the camaraderie bar has been maxed out to 5 stars, the character will gift you a shirt with an image of them slapped onto it as well as the option to fight 1-on-1. Upon success, a new preset will be unlocked. (Note that they use Cross Versus AI which is significantly harder to deal with than the basic AI seen elsewhere.)

To unlock the Festival preset of each character, you will have to select the "I want to fight" option that unlocks after maxing a character's camaraderie and claiming their T-Shirt, and then defeat them in battle (if the option is unlocked but the preset hasn't been unlocked yet, a pink bubble with an exclamation point above a handshake will appear above the character who's Festival preset is still locked). Maxing out a character's camarederie also gives you the ability to talk with them. Once defeated, the specified character will talk to you on stage and the preset will therefore be unlocked. Once this is done, talking to the character will offer the "I want to have a serious fight" option which gives you the option to fight a much more powerful version of the character, however fighting them there won't give any rewards; in these fights, you can only use your avatars, but Limit Burst can be used. It is also worth noting that fighting these characters that way won't award any Glory Points.

It is worth noting that unlocking Hercule's Festival preset will actually unlock two presets: Hercule Gi 2 and Hercule Gi 3. Hercule Gi 3 is the Festival preset and can be used in any events where possible, however the Hercule Gi 2 can only be used in Training.

The 2nd Festival of Universes added the ability to select one character from the camaraderie menu that will always be in the lobby, allowing the player to raise the chosen character's camaraderie level much quicker. Once selected, and after either going on a quest, fighting a match, or returning to the title screen, the chosen character will always wait at the center stage of any universe lobby. It is worth noting that selecting a specific character will require the player to have already interacted with the specified character at least once.

All Festival presets are unlocked for all accounts if extra have been created, regardless of the account's progress.

Characters that have undergone the Festival treatment include:

Hint: Selecting a character from the Camaraderie menu will allow the character to pop up in the lobby permanently (only one at a time may be selected).

Placements & Rewards[]

Given that the goal of this event is to play many events to earn as many Glory Points as possible, which in turn contributes to the score of the Universe Team the player has chosen, it is therefore given that ranking as high as possible is the goal of every player during the Festival of Universes. While the final tally after 9 weeks is what matters most, there is still value in weekly contributions: first, at the end of each week, Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time will show up to announce which Universe is currently in the lead, giving players a reminder to try and earn more if their team arrived second or third. Second, depending on how much Glory Points are earned individually by players during a week, their placement will give them access to certain prizes, the better ones available for those who ranked the highest.

As previoulsy mentined, during the Festival of Universes, players, by acquiring Glory Points and helping their chosen universe team rise through the leaderboard, can earn rewards based on their universe's placement, as well as their own in-team placement or general Glory Points total acquisition. Rewards are then distributed, either at the beginning of the next week, or at the end of the Festival of Universes period, depending on what type of reward it is. When they are available, players will be able to get them at the Timespace Delivery robot. It is worth noting that most unique rewards (clothing sets, auras and Cross Versus Badges) change with each edition of the Festival of Universes, giving them a certain exclusivity to them since they haven't returned in subsequent editions (except for the Festival Champion aura).

Festival Shop[]

During the Festival of Universes, a shop is available in all three universe lobbies, which allows you to purchase items from the TP Medal Shop that are available in Conton City (though not all available items can be purchased from the universe lobby shop). With the 2nd Festival of Universes, two new shops are now available as well: those are the STP Medal Shop (availble only starting this edition of the Festival of Universes, since the STP Medal update was added in-between the 1st and the 2nd), and the brand new Star Coin Shop, a new type of shop bringing a new currency as well as exclusive purchasable items. Unlike the TP Medal Shop, all available items in the STP Medal Shop in Conton City are available in the one in the Universe lobbies.

Unlike TP Medals or STP Medals, Star Coins can neither be obtained through purchases or in-game events and modes; the only way to get Star Coins is by playing the Festival of Universes. By acquiring Glory Points during all nine weeks of the 2nd Festival, players can acquire various rewards, which can include Star Coins, that are made available either at the end of a week, or at the end of the Festival.

Festival Uniforms at the TP Medal Shop[]

During the 1st and the 2nd Festival of Universes, players could obtain Festival Uniforms based on certain universes simply by playing during the event, with, however, no way of getting the ones from the other two universes players didn't choose to be a part of this way. However, there was still a way: all festival uniforms were able to be purchased at the TP Medal Shop, for prices ranging from 3 000 TP Medals at the minimum to 30 000 TP Medals at the maximum for individual pieces of equipment. It is worth noting however that, once one of the festival uniforms is bought, all others will no longer be available for purchase anymore, meaning that players can only buy one extra festival uniform from any universe in any coloration they want, but that is it. They are made available once more a couple of weeks later, with the same rules applying once more. It is also worth noting that the 2nd Festival of Universes didn't bring back the 1st Festival of Universes uniforms, meaning that only the current Festival's uniforms can be bought during the event.

During the 1st Festival of Universes, the Festival Uniforms were purchasable through th TP Medal Shop in Conton City, however, during the 2nd Festival of Universes, they could no longer be purchased from the Conton City TP Medal Shop, instead they were available through the one available in the Universes lobbies. The Festival Uniforms can't be purchased using STP Medals.
