Combos[]
- Light String (9L): A series of punches and kicks. The seventh attack is a multi-hit series of punches. The eighth attack is a multi-hit series of kicks. The final attack is a horizontal chop that launches the opponent.
- Heavy String (5H): A series of punches and kicks that leads to an elbow-throwing launcher.
- Alternating String (HLHLH): Third attack is an upward-launching kick that is a Step Cancel. The fourth attack is a teleporting punch that knocks the opponent downward at a shallow angle. The final attack is a teleporting flip kick that launches the opponent in a long knockback.
- LHH: Second attack is a kick that moves Nail to the side of the opponent. The final attack is an upward-launching kick.
- 5L3H: Sixth attack is a series of kicks punctuated by an additional kick. The final attack is a launching kick.
- Grab: Nail swings his arms to the side, as a flash of light staggers the opponent. He then thrusts his left arm forward, firing a wide Ki Blast that sends the opponent in the same direction as the grab.
Usage Tips[]
Though he sports a mediocre combo damage output and Stamina pool, Nail's LHH and Alternating Strings provide great synergy with his Skills, and his Super Soul and Limit Burst can make Nail fearsomely capable of making a comeback in a losing battle. Nail performs best at or near the ceiling of the map, where he can easily connect his Skills and his teleport-reliant Stamina Break confirm.
- He can perform a Stamina Break from the 5th input of his Light String. Near the ceiling, he can reliably perform a Light or Heavy Stamina Break from the teleport in the fourth attack of his Alternating String.
- Nail's LHH string and Evil Flight Strike combo into eachother at the ceiling of the map. These can be used repeatedly as a great source of damage.
- Namek Finger can be used to extend a combo string and restand the opponent. Its endlag makes it dangerous to use outside of a combo.
- Do or Die activates the Super Soul, "I must protect Grand Elder Guru!", which provides automatic health recovery on par with an Auto Health and Stamina Recovery! Limit Burst.
- The health recovery from the Super Soul "I must protect Grand Elder Guru!" and his Auto Health and Stamina Recovery! Limit Burst stacks. Activating both will then provide significant health regeneration at a very rapid speed. There are advantages to either using both methods of healing at once or using them at different points in the battle.
- Nail can combo into Full Power Energy Wave without requiring a Stamina Break by using it after his Alternating String.
- Nail can combo into Mystic Flash without requiring a Stamina Break by using it after the teleport of the final attack of his Alternating String. If Nail and the opponent are high enough in the map, he will fire Mystic Flash downward and connect as the opponent falls.
