Mentor[]
Following the defeat of Raditz, Yamcha is in the first batch of mentors available to you. He can be found beyond the Time Nest, on the stairs leading to world tournament arena. As a mentor he will teach you the following skills:
Combos[]
- Light String (9H): Eight attack is a launcher knee kick, the last attack has Yamcha teleport in front of the path of the opponent and kick them away again. The attack can be guard cancelled for an infinite or cancelled into a break or a super.
- Heavy String (5H): Ends in a knockback.
- Alternating String (HLHLH): Third attack is a juggling sweep kick. Fourth attack is a launcher uppercut chop causing a long knockback. Fifth attack has Yamcha chase the opponent with an upkick, very similarily to Saiyan Male HLHLH. Can land Wolf Fang Fist/Neo Wolf Fang Fist upon last hit.
- LHH: Second attack has Yamcha spin around, chopping with his hands, and juggling the opponent. The third attack has him kick the opponent down. Can land Volleyball Fist or Wolf Fang Fist/Neo variant if near ground.
- 5L3H: Sixth attack juggles opponent with a kick, sixth attack has him attack twice with a spin kick, the last attack has him kick opponent upward twice.
- Grab: Yamcha grabs the opponent by their chest and kicks them several times in place before kicking them away.
- Backhit: Spins around and hits opponent in place.
Usage Tips[]
Although he may appear as nothing special, Yamcha's combos work competently to land his moves. LHH near the ground, HLHLH or the teleport in his light string can land both Wolf Fang Fist attacks, Ki Blast Thrust, Kamehameha or Bloody Sauce. He mostly sets himself apart from other earthlings with access to Super Kamehameha on his mentor preset, as well his supervillain preset being able to utilize the best charge move, Darkness Mixer. His supervillain preset has other problems however, lacking a good or reliable ultimate move, and his only super Ki Blast being bloody sauce, which while Yamcha can land, deal only minimal damage, while its debuffs are not very substantial.
Trivia[]
- He has unused lines for Kaioken, remaining from the last game
- Using Super Saiyan skill on Yamcha via mods will actually use his supervillain skin, although his pupils and eyebrows remain black.
